2023 Elections is already forth coming in the next two years and campaigns and election procedures will be kickstarted, the Igbo leaders are already demanding for the presidential tickets for the APC and PDP political parties ahead of the 2023 Elections.
The Igbo ethnic group is one of the largest predominant geopolitical zone in Nigeria and located in the South-East part of Nigeria.
The Igbo leaders across all the federation have laid demands, that the two major political parties in Nigeria should relinquish the parties Presidential tickets for the Igbos in the 2023 elections.
This demand was made available in a communique that was signed by a former governor of Abia State, Senator Uzor Orji Kalu and Senator Ike Ekweremadu. It was issued after the bipartisan meeting of the South-East leaders which was held at Camp Neya, Igbere, Abia State on Tuesday.
In the Communique they said ” The South-East, as a major geopolitical zone and Ndigbo, being one of the three predominant tribes in Nigeria, must take its rightful position in national politics by getting the 2023 elections presidential tickets”.
“The Presidency has rotated between Northern and Southern Nigeria and among the various geopolitical zones for so long”.
The leaders stood their grounds that the zone is united and indivisible in advancing the cause of the region and Ndigbo, they stressed that they were not in support of succession or any successionist group.
