Female Professor Emerged as new VC at Yobe University

In the just concluded fifth council meeting of the Governing Council, a Female Professor Emerged as new VC at Yobe University.

A female professor emerged as new VC at Yobe University in their recent Governing council meeting which was just concluded on 16th January 2021.

The Governing Council approved her appointment immediately after the usual selection process was carried out and she was deemed fit to take on the mantle.

Professor Maimuna Waziri is a professor of chemistry from the same university.

It was gathered that 48 professors from the university  had applied for the same position, out of which 25 were shortlisted for an interview.

Three (3) out of the 25 candidates made it to the  final stage before the governing council decided on settling for Professor Maimuna Waziri.

While she was receiving congratulatory messages from different sectors as the first Female Professor Emerging as VC at Yobe University, the Pro-chancellor of the University, Mallam Ibrahim Akuyam called on her to carry all staffs along in her duties.

She will be succeeding the Incumbent Vice-chancellor, Professor Andrew Haruna whose tenure will elapse in 10th February.
