You only have one mind, but it serves two very different purposes. Here are the names commonly use to describe these two different purposes.

1, The Conscious Mind, and
2, The Subconscious Mind.

There are also many other words. But the ones above are the ones most often used to show the two main things your mind does.

The conscious and subconscious minds can be compared to a tree and its roots to help us understand them better.

Your Conscious Mind is like a tree. It helps you make decisions, think logically, or just figure out what to do and how to do it best in everyday situations.

When we think of me, we think of our conscious mind, the part of our mind that we know everything about. This part of the mind decides for us and tells us what to do. It also analyzes, criticizes, and even orders us to do things.

Your Subconscious Mind is like the roots; it mostly deals with repeating things you’ve learned. This can help you a lot because it makes it easier for you to handle things the next time they come up.

Everything we see, hear, smell, taste, touch, or feel goes through our conscious mind and is then stored in our subconscious mind.

Once you’ve learned how to handle a situation, it’s much easier the next time because you can use the information you’ve already learned.

For example, you don’t have to think about how to ride a bike once you’ve learned how to do it. This is because the next time you ride your bike, the stored information will come to you automatically.

Just like if you learned where each letter on your keyboard is, you can now type without looking because you have a mental picture of what the keyboard looks like in your subconscious mind.

These are just two examples of how the subconscious mind stores relationships between learned behaviors, but we’re sure you can find many more in your daily life.

Information from the conscious mind gets into the subconscious mind, and there is a very strong link between the two. People say that your conscious mind takes in everything you’ve ever seen, heard, or done and then stores it as a memory in your subconscious mind.

This memory is not only stored as the event itself, but also as the feelings that went along with it at the time.

Your subconscious mind stores more than just your thoughts and feelings. It is where all of your great ideas come from and where your intuition and creativity live.

Your unconscious mind also keeps you going even when you don’t realize it. It takes care of your body’s functions, like your heartbeat, and runs your movement, language, visual perception, and a lot of other mind and body processes automatically for you.

It also checks your mind for conflict and stress, checks your environment for danger and threats, and relays and interprets your perceptions, sensations, and feelings.

Last but not least, it stores all of your experiences and decisions, which are what make you who you are.
