10 Bandits Arrested in Niger State

Village Head and 10 Bandits have been arrested in Niger State.

The Village head of a community in Niger State and 10 bandits were arrested yesterday alongside a woman in Niger State.

The village head of Tungar Iliya who was arrested alongside the 10 bandits, have been haboring and giving informations to the bandits who have been terrorizing and causing security bridge in the state.

They were arrested by the police at the Tungar Illiya Forest in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.

Earlier on new year eve in the same local Government, an  incidence was reported to have occurred in Baban Rami in Mashegu Local Government  of Niger state. Bandits laid ambush on farmers who were going to harvest their produce and killed about 7 of the innocent farmers.

In  Statement by the police public relations officer, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, he said that their arrest was followed by long hours of fire exchange between the police team and the bandits.

He said five bandits were injured during the gun fight. And also a woman, Sumayya Bello, the village head and 10 bandits were arrested.
