In the ongoing EPL sports Southampton beats Sheffield 3-0
The first goal was scored by the Southampton striker Che Adams against his former club Sheffield, and the subsequent goals was scored by the midfielders Stuart Armstrong and Nathan Redmond some intervals later.
The game was played at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday and this propel the club to be third on the table.
Southampton showed dominant possession for 34 minutes and properly dealt with the free kick
Adams was the fastest to play out his fourth goal in the league in front of thousands of supporters.
Then Armstrong brought on a second goal in the second half of the game when he gave a low short which gave the blades goal keeper Aaron Ramsdale no opportunity at all, as it took a big deflection off the defender Phil Jagielka and rolled into the net.
The substitute Redmond took a chance and score his first goal of the season some minutes later with a side footed finishing.
In an after match interview Armstrong stated “we knew it was going to be a tough match and the opponent were fully anticipating to get something positive from the match, and it was imminent to get the breakthrough. But it was difficult for the first few minutes, but we were able to find our feet and fully deserved the win”.
This Sheffield’s 11th defeat is making them the first team since Queens Park Rangers in 2012 to be without any win after 12 premier league matches, and pressure is mounting on the manager to arrest the situation.
The just concluded game has made Southampton climb to the third position in the table behind other teams such as Tottenham and Liverpool with a total of 23 points from a summary of 12 games played. And there is a potential clash with Arsenal on Wednesday.
